Basic equipment for cleaning the office

An office needs a lot more cleaning than a house. There are more occupants in an office and many adults spend more time in the office than at home. The increase in foot traffic in the office requires more effort to keep it clean. To aid in keeping the office clean, we need to keep a few essential things in our office cleaning cupboard.
Here is a list of the basic things you need in your office cleaning cupboard:

Vacuum cleaner
A vacuum cleaner is essential, especially for offices with a lot of floor carpets. The fine dust particles carried by shoes that cannot be swept by brooms in carpets are the main thing that a vacuum cleaner is used for. A vacuum cleaner can also be more efficient than just a broom and dust pan. It’s recommended to have the bag-less vacuum cleaner variety, as it can save you the cost of buying spare dust bags. Also, retrieving items accidentally sucked up by a bag-less vacuum cleaner can be easier than one with a bag.

Broom and dust pan
Even in the age of the vacuum cleaner, the broom and dustpan still have their place. A broom can clean places where a vacuum cleaner cannot reach. Ideally, using a broom first to remove large debris and garbage before using the vacuum cleaner is best. The dust pan is essential to the efficiency of the broom since you spend less energy sweeping.

Mop and bucket
Mops come in a range of shapes and sizes. They are used for non-carpet floor surfaces to remove dirt and dust. A good set of mops come with a bucket and a mop squeezer on wheels. It will take less effort to move the bucket around when it has wheels. Choose a large mop for open spaces and a small mop for tighter corridors.

Feather dusters
Feather dusters are required when you need to clean delicate items like ornaments and other décor. A good feather duster will have very soft feathers and a rigid handle. You can also clean shelves and bookcases with feather dusters and they can be used to lightly dust your workspace.

Cleaning cloths and rags
There are many different types of cleaning cloths so you should consider what you need. Cleaning cloths vary in terms of materials and you should know where they can be used. Micro fibre cloths can be used for glass and other scratch sensitive surfaces. Ordinary rags made of cloth can be used for wiping down windows and tables. Just be sure to disinfect your cleaning cloths and rags after use and store them properly.

This list has just the basic things you need in order to keep your office clean. Store them in a cool, dry place that is easily accessible. Always remember that office cleanliness will keep its workers healthy and happy. It will also give a good impression with your clients and guests.
